Loving God of all Creation
Who sent Jesus Christ to teach us your Way
Teach us to pray so that we may come to you
In thanksgiving and intercession
That we may pray for our needs and those of Others
In the name of Jesus Christ,
Amen

Prayers of the People

In his season of Creation, counting the weeks until Advent, let us come to God with our thanksgivings and petitions.
We thank you, O God, for the many blessings we receive from you. For the greenness of your Creation, and the many precious creatures that therein dwell.
We thank you for family, friends, and community.
We thank you for the many goods that some may take for granted: food, shelter, clothing, safety, and comfort.
We lift up all these to you in thanksgiving, as well as those praises we say aloud or hold in our hearts…
Hallelujah! Praise God
We offer to you our petitions for those things we need in our lives
For those who are lonely, we pray for community
For those who are homeless, we pray for shelter
For those who are impoverished, for their basic needs to be met
We pray for those with health concerns, acute and chronic
For those who are in danger, we pray for safety
We pray for cessation to all wars on earth, and for peace and reconciliation for those involved
We pray for the care of your creation, for right relationships with the land and the indigenous peoples thereof. We pray that we all would be proper stewards of your creation: heal and restore the land from this ecological crisis
We pray for those petitions, for ourselves and others, that we say aloud or hold in our hearts…
Comfort us, O God
Bringing to you our thanksgivings, praises, and petitions, we pray the prayer that Jesus taught:
Lord’s Prayer
