United Church Launches Emergency Appeal for Myanmar (Burma) The United Church of Canada has announced that it is launching an emergency appeal for donations designated for cyclone relief and reconstruction in Myanmar (Burma). As always with United Church emergency appeals, 100% of the donations received for the Cyclone Nargis Emergency Appeal will be committed to relief and reconstruction. Mar Gay Guyi, General Secretary of Myanmar Council of Churches (MCC) by telephone. The Rev. Mar Gay Guyi shared, “I have never seen a disaster of this magnitude in my whole life. United Church BC Conference Meets May 22 - 25 The 79th General Meeting of the British Columbia Conference of The United Church of Canada will be held May 22-25 at Capilano College in North Vancouver. The meeting begins at 6:30 PM Thursday evening and will end with The Celebration of Ministry Service on Sunday May 25 at 10:00 AM.
