Shoe Box Ministry Update

Shoe Box Ministry: A week ago we delivered 65 care packages to the Whalley Strip. They were gender-specific and each contained items that would be required by either a man or a woman. Included were soap, shampoo, deodorant, face cloths, hand towels, sanitary products, underwear, socks, tooth brushes, toothpaste, and warm woollen toques. Finally – for the soul – each package contained chocolate treats.  They were incredibly well-received. The Northwood congregation is very generous and your Christian charity is certainly appreciated. We are starting now to gather items for our next delivery. We continue to need both men’s and women’s underwear, face cloths, deodorants, and toothpaste. Donations of money are also very useful as we can then shop for items we need to fill in the gaps. The Shoe Box Ministry recently moved to a permanent facility in the church building and is sharing space with the Hot Lunch Program. Visitors are more than welcome and can talk to Brian Martin after the morning service.
