Community and Global Development Ministry
On this page . . .
We are called to be with others in God's mission for wholeness of life,
to share resources and experiences, and to build relationships of respect,
especially with those who suffer the effects of unjust systems.
Outreach To Our Local Community
Thrift Shop The Thrift Shop, run by volunteers from the church, is open on Tuesday and Thursday 9:30 am to 4 pm and on Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm. The Thrift Shop is located in the church house on the north side of the church. You can purchase quality used items at a great price! Donations of good, clean, used clothes and household items are gladly accepted on the days we are open.

Oak Avenue Neighbourhood Hub
The Oak Avenue Neighbourhood Hub includes projects like Whalley Family Place, a Homework Club, life skills training, seniors outreach, family management, a community kitchen and community meals.
Global Outreach
Mission and Service Fund
The United Church's Mission and Service Fund works with partners in Canada and internationally to ensure that needs are assessed quickly and accurately, responses are immediate, and that on-going support helps prevent problems from re-occurring.
Because of the Mission and Service Fund, the United Church is able to quickly respond to emergency situations without waiting for media appeals to create interest. By working with reliable trusted partners in Canada and in 37 countries, less money is spent coordinating and delivering aid. More money goes where it is needed.
